On a wet and breezy September day, three teams gathered at lake to take part in an exciting Dragon Boat Race, all in the name of supporting Alfie’s Wish. It was a thrilling day filled with teamwork, laughter, and a shared goal of raising funds!
This year, the competition saw three enthusiastic teams paddle their way to victory (or at least to the finish line!) in a series of head-to-head races. Each team brought their own energy, adorned in bright colours and team spirit, ready to give their all for both the race and the charity. From the first splash of the paddles hitting the water to the final cheer from the crowd, the event was nothing short of exhilarating!
We are beyond thrilled to announce that the event raised an incredible £5,000 for Alfie’s Wish. These funds will go directly towards supporting families of children battling cancer, ensuring they have the chance to create precious memories together. Alfie’s legacy continues to inspire so many, and it was heart-warming to see the community come together for such an amazing cause.
As the final boat crossed the finish line, there was one sentiment on everyone’s mind: "We can’t wait for next year!" This Dragon Boat Race has become a highlight of our community calendar, and we’re already gearing up for an even bigger and better event in 2025 .
